just courious about the ferreting

Recommended Posts

im reading up on the web now but not sure i can manage this net making av got string all over the computer desk haha :wallbash:

i've been ferreting a bit, bought some hand made nets locally, there plenty on ebay only about 2 quid each so i never bother making my own. you need to be careful not to lose your ferrets down a hole if they kill down there you could be waiting a while for him to come back out if your not using locate collars, there are a few ways to try and get the ferret back out though.

agree with earlier post get a good book thats got info about keeping ferrets aswel as working them

Best bet is to go with someone and see if you like it before buying all the gear. but if you are addiment, get a ferret finder MK3 (140 on ebay). some nets (11 quid for ten on ebay), ferrets (start mine about 8 months old), ferret box (tenner on ebay), and a spade. think thats everything. set nets over all holes, put ferret in, watch for rabbits to bolt. its not that overly simple but you pick up little tricks after a while, like the best way to set a net so the rabbit doesnt get loose, and to put your foot in a hole that a rabbit has bolted from while you neck it so any other bunnies don't slip out too etc etc. hope that helps.
