Blacksheep 6
Animal cruelty for a fiesta !!!! makes you wonder why a so called modern civilised country allows it to go on .
JoeD 24
I agree with keeping traditions and all but this one should be stopped in my oppinion, then again, how do we know the journalist didn't over exagerate about what she saw. Joe
Bryan 1,362
looks top class to me! Spain is a great country that isn't bullied by other countries or the opinions of the daily mail. The fighting bull is a Game animal, unlike most of the wild animals we hunt? All livestock is raised to be killed.

lurchergrrl 1,441
It's not the killing that bothers me about this sort of thing, it's the cruel way they do it. No respect for the animal at all. It's very painful and drawn out and not at all my cup of tea. The journalist used very emotive language, to be sure, but if you strip that away it's still obvious how cruel this practice is - it's not a sport at all.

Richie10 345
This is the same reporting that got our sports banned. You guys just add credibility to it. No facts just emotive words.

Joe well for one, she reckons the eu union spends £37 million a year on these events...... feck me thats the biggest bull she's told.... to many softy tree-huggers on ere...... ive done worse and so has everybody else on ere... an animal is a creature whether its a fly or an ox.... youve all squashed flys right, youve all let ya dogs rip rabbits apart... youve all shot foxes in the head with ballistic-tips .. so whats the difference...... id be quite happy if this country grew a set, give up on the queers and immigrants and pleasing muslim terrorists and re-instated cock-fighting and bull-baiting.... and public hangings at local town centers, and village greens....... but i expect most softie would call that barbaric as well.. p.s id love to be the executioner, sleeping well at night knowing id sent one more pervert to hell with a one way pass

No facts just emotive words. I agree the reporting is emotive and not helpful at all. But the fact of the story can't be changed, can it? I wouldn't chase a deer round in a field (and not just because I couldn't catch it ), hacking at it and stabbing it, digging my knife in and twisting, and cutting bits of it off, till it finally fell over and died. That's NOT sporting, and imo it IS cruel. Supporting something so blatant as that type of "sport" only reinforces what some people think about hunters in this country. I suppose we all draw fine lines about what is an isn't acceptable, and a long, drawn-out, painful death, to my mind, is cruel. I couldn't watch that. Just my opinion, like. Just my opinion, like. id kill that dear with a toffe-hammer if that was the only weapon/tool available to be... but the question would be what gives first, my arm or the buck's skull....... anyone whos done proper huntin or poachin, will slit its throat faster than you can say RSPCA i say viva espania
