jf1970 328
well folks had another good 2hrs out with molly today, got to my permission at 10am and we set the longnets up along a hedge-row where we seen around 12 rabbits a few days ago, molly again was keen today checking out a few holes before we entered the ferrets, wasn't long before we had the 1st in the net and molly was onto it,holding it down until i got to it i set the net about 15ft from the hedgerow again today so as to give molly a chance to see the rabbits before they hit the net, another 5 mins the next rabbit bolted into the net, this time it managed to get out just as molly was about to pounce but before it could get back down the burrow molly had grabbed it by the back leg and was dragging it out the nettles,as she tried to get a better grip it got loose and was gone back down the hole, better luck next time molly.had 5 rabbits from that hedgerow so decided to try another on the way back, same as before, set net 15ft away from hedgerow and entered ferrets,2 mins later,1,2,3 rabbits all at once into the net, again molly was onto 1 and held it down while i dispatched the other, the 3rd got away and back down the hole, can't get them all, lol.had to wait 10mins before we had more action, but the best was kept to last, molly could hear alot of noise coming from the hedgerow and was standing at the entrance to the hole, full attention waiting to pounce, when the rabbit bolted it seen her, jumped 2ft into the air and ran for the next hole, but molly wasn't letting this one get away, before it got to safety she grabbed it by the back end and pulled it out of the cover another good morning was had by all and molly again learned a bit more, she also learned to stay away from electric fences in the picture there is 11 rabbits,we caught 12,but when i went back to the bag to put the last rabbits in there was 1 missing???i did see a pine martin bolt a few rabbits here a few days ago so i think he got a free meal today,lol,cheers......john 1 Quote Link to post
