saw a few about first one was 94 95 good dog but pik of the litter and tall and rangy bred in alloa area second one i had of a freind not a good all rounder but suited the hill keeper who had him started looking at his terriers so he had to go hees settled in to a good home and has done the owner proud hees fearless tough bit to much coat for me ,but good pestcontrol dog but not a good potfiller to hard in the mouth be alrite mdiluted down to a good saluk type or colie type

there not a potfillers choice though are they whin,there a vermin dog pre ban they are what they are game tough bidable lurchers i cant see how to much coat would affect a dogs working performance either i like a good coat on lurchers and terriers as i said before hides a multitude of sins

to much coat dogs over heat especaily if running stubbles feild after feild when you can drive them ,first and foremost alurcher has to provide the owner with grub etc or others then pestcontrol ,i rate them simliar to the proper old fashiond beardie at time but with more head on them ,i dont rate coat for runing hard ideal for sitting it out at ahole for abolt or on amoor working with hounds etc there a good dog but the ones ive saw were limited on a good bit of fast qaury and were a bit heqd strong with smaller dogs

like i said whin there not a potfillers choice its not everyones cup of tea rabbiting is it, if i was after a serious rabbiting dog i would go for another cross but i am not so they suit me ,and i am not really into faster quarry again i would go for a different cross even though my dogs take them occasionaly and take rabbits regular they do what i want them to do and do it well, and i do keep hounds and they work regular with them and there coat has never caused over heating and ive never had a problem with them with smaller dogs ie terriers any dog can be funny with other dogs its how you socialise them from pups

Been out with wheaton x,s...The half x takes some beatin on the foxes pre ban....The 3/4grey 1/4 wheaton takes some beatin on deer pre ban...just to add the ones ive been out with were as placid as you like....atb stabba

they will both do them pal obviously the 3/4 grey 1/4 wheaten will be that bit quicker and perhaps abit more up on the leg but they will both do the job no problem

i like the first cross. but then i like a sturdy dog. and i'm willing to sacrifice a little pace. to get a more durable animal

she is from a 1st x wheaton greyhound bitch back to a 3/4 greyhound 1/4 bull dog and she can be but to ANY job and it's the same with all her litter mates her dam is first class on all game but she game back to the greyhound more so than the wheaton but some of her siplings were a bit short in the leg and a bit heavey for serious speed but they all do the work that their owners chose for them but when i go for 1st x i would go for the leggier type and they would be as good if not better than the 3/4 and either 1st x or 3/4 you will get plenty of work from them for many a year to come.yis lurcher 330

If i was just getting one for the red lad pre ban,i would opt for a 3/4 bred animal,,with foxy you must put him under pressure fast, if he gets a head of steam up your dog is going to run out of field space and your fox will be gone All the gameness in the world wont catch him if your dog dont have the legs,,,
