runforyourlife 361
well it wont do him any harm, but it wont do him any favours either... And it will inpair the performance of the dog... Get it out and get it back up on its toes.... lots and lots &lots & lots and plenty of road walking.... Quote Link to post
chartpolski 23,476
Road walking CAN tighten feet up a bit, but no amount of road walking will give a dog born with bad feet, good feet ! Dogs are born with good, bad or average feet; they can be improved slightly by walking, but you can't turn a flat foot into a good, tight, "cat" type foot. Cheers. Quote Link to post

shushycatcher 219
the best dog ive ever had was flat footed. Never done her any harm what so ever! She was 3/4 grey 1/4 whippet and could turn on a sixpence! atb shushy Quote Link to post
Paul in North Lincs 15
.............sounds like he's had a life time stuck in a run.....the old tendons slackn and can caused a flat 'loose' foot...As someone already mentioned, you can tighten em up abit with plenty of excercise. Some are just born with bad feet tho Quote Link to post
fieldsman 51
Being flat footed doesn,t mean its got bad feet Ive got a dog good breeding but flat feet has run on every ground you could test him on .Some of his runs have taken him onto tarmac roads apart from skin removal and shatterd nails no problems ive dogs with cat feet that seem to stub their toes and some that dont the only dog that I can say has never had a problem is a bitch whippet on any ground I put this down to her light weight I can run her on any land and still work her the next day not once has she had a problem with her feet. She will probably break her leg now Ive said that .
