RossM 8,149
have you seen an alauntx work? aye? naw? so how can you pass judgement on looks alone? agree, there are some top bullx's out there but if the alaunt works and does a job for whoever then who are you lot to say that it shouldnt be bred from? just coz there are good bullx's out there doesnt mean the alauntx wouldnt be just as good? Guest fence_hopper
alright bud9 note having a go at your bitch mate, is she undershot or has she just got a mastiff looking face? how would these dogs compare to a well bred bull x 3/4 something like that? she is just undersgot and no more pal and she is as good as any bullx ok bud no probs mate wasnt having a go at her she looks abit masify like. if they do the job for you fair enough and good to you for putting the time and money into something different. the sire of my bitch was a bullmastiff mate one dog that didnt need to be added to alaunts imo pointless breed carnt stand them. I admire all working dogs, and if the mastiff/bull/grey was better than a bull/grey id run them myself. Unfortunately their not, and if you doubt my logic, all I can assume, is that you havent seen a proper bull/grey work. You guys speak highly of them, so are obviously happy, thats all that matters. take care, and good hunting. Quote Link to post
HALTY LAD 92
heres bitch bred of my bitch she was an alround bitch hi bud9, she looks more serviceable, and should catch a hog or even some venison perhaps, but how much bull is there? you could have a similar stamp of dog which is 50% bull, therefore superior jaw power for the bad shit. pointless adding the mastif if your just to breed it out again. but if you like a big dog, maybe used as a guard aswell, then each to their own. again looks a fine dog in great condition, and you work the dogs so hats off to you Quote Link to post
TOPPER 1,809
it never ceases to amaze me that we have all these wannabe experts on thl most have never seen an alaunte never mind seen one work, i kept bull crosses for years and had some bloody good ones but i get better milage out of my alaunte than i did any bull cross ie no feet problems , more stamina less injurys and they take anything you put in front of them single handed from pigs bambi to retreiving rabbits live to hand well most of them, there good dogs in the right hands but there not fashion dogs thank god Quote Link to post
