Like the look of them

cracking looking dogs, sorry for my ignorance but do yous use them as a running dog or just to cross with grey hounds, or are they an end of dig dog, or a guard dog??

why wasnt this line used 30 years ago to start the strong dog x greyhound and instead they used something else that had been proven over and over again.   now this seems just to be a fad that wont g

very strong animal, and not for the faint hearted...hope young pretenders don't start getting there hands on these... like the look of the lighter brindle but fair play both are very handy looking

Handy for what mate? these dogs couldnt catch a cold, the only time they could be used on a dig is at the end and that would be cruel, no good for setting down in the square, so I cant think what they handy for. Unless its for keeping dog thieves out your yard. Having said that they are fine looking animals but not for me...and I bet take some upkeep.. :icon_eek:

alright bud9 note having a go at your bitch mate, is she undershot or has she just got a mastiff looking face?

how would these dogs compare to a well bred bull x 3/4 something like that?

Look healthy well kept dogs, which you should take credit for... as for the debate about them as working dogs, ive seen similar dogs used as catch dogs for pigs abroad, but in the UK you would be hard pressed to catch a wild boar with a heavy dog like this, you need speed if you manage to get them to brake cover, otherwise they smash through bramble and cover which no big dog like this has a chance of a catch. Might get lucky now and then on rough ground or on the lamp. As for breeding lurchers, its the mastiff part of the deal that is most off putting, and basically is a handicap to the running dog. Good if you need the bulk for some reason, like feral pigs, but cant think of anything else where the mastiff ingredient could benefit in the field.

Good hunting

Lovely looking dog Bud, they look a lot wider than my pup that is almost the same breeding, although in the bottom photo where your bitch is stood next to the Black and White BullX they don't look that much dfferant in size? (although shorter Muzzle than the bullx obviously!)

As they say dogs for a job pure and simple.
