Hannah4181 260
I watched a whole pig cooked underground in Hawaii . . . .. . it was wrapped in huge leaves and lowered into the pit full of coals, then buried . . . Left there for hours, and it was by far the nicest pork i've ever eaten! If you google it i'm sure there will be lots of info to get you started.

Tyla 3,179
We did it for our wedding. Cooked a lamb, a fallow and a roe. We did have a jcb to dig the hole though! The meat was amazing, really tender and tasty

JohnGalway 1,043
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fulacht_fiadh You may need a better source on the details than Wikipedia. However, the process does work. An archaeologist told us how colleagues of his tried it and the meat was beautiful. Mind you, they would have said that Let us know how it turns out if you go ahead, and take photos!
