lucky 578
I like the first cross wheaten greyhound but I just can't see what use a pure wheaten would be out in the field ? There a time bomb waiting to go off. No I'll re phrase that, proper wheatens are a time bomb. The ones I've seen over here are just big furry pets that are good for nothing lol. Quote Link to post

AXUM 255
I made the mistake of leaving my friends in our garden with my staffy bitch. He was a working dog and worked with my staff bitch on and off a few seasons.so I thought as they had never had a scrap in the two years working together they would be ok.-Big mistake! We had only been gone an hour and came back to a very dead wheaten.(much to our upset) My staffy had never been dog aggressive in her life so im sure she wasnt the culprit. just beware if you are keeping dogs together,as im sure he had started this scrap and he wasnt particularly dog aggressive either-just be carefull. like leaving a working terrer type loose near an occupied den... its gonna do whats its bred to do, in your case, toe the line lol Quote Link to post
sawyer 94
I didnt realise wheatons temprement was this bad. Quote Link to post
Cleanspade 3,322
my half cross has been no problem. not due to him being calm or steady. but due to the fact that i make sure he is under control at all times. inside and out. any problems ive had has been due to other dog owners neglecting to show the same respect for there wards . as for temprement he is just what i expected . if i had wanted something a little steadier i would have opted for a lab cross. or maybe poodle. 2 Quote Link to post

You do not have to be called Sherlock to know not to leave these two breeds of dog together,it is common sense. If they were fine with each other and neither dog aggressive why is one of them dead?????.It also does not go to show dogs can be unpredictable, with the two breeds involved it goes to show they were very predictable,THEY ARE FIGHTING DOGS fighting dogs love to fight.Leaving two together they may fight in five minutes they may not fight for five years but they will fight sooner or later.Did you never read the threads on here warning novices about these dogs? 3 Quote Link to post
