Brace of foxes at tea time...

Recommended Posts

Out on my ground on Saturday with Ratcherman. On glassing the valley I spotted 5 foxes on a banking about 1/2 a mile away at 5pm. We jumped in my car and drove round the 2 mile journey to get behind and above them keeping the wind right.

I placed Ratch at the edge of a wood whilst I tried to stalk the foxes which were below us.

As I descended the bank going very slowly I eventually spotted a fox trotting towards me but as I tried to get set up on my sticks it disappeared behind a gorse bush. I very slowly started to creep up to this bush when I spotted another fox lying down which was skylined , no shot on but it got up and just ambled off.

As I ascended the bank a bit further knowing the foxes were literally 30 yards away from me I heard a shot ring out .... :gunsmilie:

Ratch had got his eye on a fox and dropped it stone dead ....

On hearing his shot I peered over the top of the bank only to spot another fox looking in his direction and it was only 20 yards from me ....

No2 joined its mate with the others scarpering into the nearby wood ....
