Modern engines shut down before damage is done. Its annoying at the time cos your looking at the engine thinking..... this could get me f*****g home, seen engines a lot warmer etc.... but it has shut down before you've done damage... I think a little too soon but that's just me. I reckon your van will be fine mate. You've not roasted the engine and trust me, you'd know if you've roasted the engine, you'd be lucky to touch the dashboard never mind the bunnet lol.... Wee tip since you don't have a temp guage.... keep your heater to warm, as soon as you feel it going cold, you've run out of water.

Aye your spot on the hot air did go to cold.

I thought I was goin that hard it was just a draught. Lol.

Can't understand why they wouldn't put a temp gauge on it. Seems daft.

Get on the phone to the b*****ds then if it don't have a temp gauge... merc vans the same, f****n daft. tell them exactly what happened, you checked the water that morning etc and since no temp gauge, you didn't notice it over heating. You want them to reset comp free mate. Probably a wee earner for the c**ts but they'll tell you what it costs to get the comp reset. If no temp gauge they must be certain their computer will save your engine so no worries mate, you'll be fine.

I know its crazy mate. For all the things they can cut back on you'd think a temp gauge would be needed lol. Must be too hard for them to make an accurate digital one so why bother

There was nothing wrong with a gauge.

Phone them up and tell them what happened. When your on the phone let them think you know what your talking about. Tell them you felt the air going cold from the blower so you knew immediately their was a problem and when you pulled over it cut out. You never run the van hard etc or out of water. Let them know you know what your talking about and you monitor the water levels cos their ain't no temp gauge and you keep the blower to warm to check it has water. Your not happy this has left you without a van, what are they going to do about it. As soon as you let them think you don't know anything mate, they get the calculaters out.
