BWB 3
go for the sheep mate you will have to register with defra and your local animal health for your holding no. and flock no. if your going to breed your own then see if you can borrow a tup to keep costs down to start with .If your going to just finish some lambs and dont want the hassle of lambing then the difference between the cost of store lambs and finished lambs could be as little as £10-15 . buy the best you can afford dont forget their cheap for a reason . I cant see how anybody can make a lot money from raising and selling pigs live especially as the grain price is rocketing good luck
trapperman 474
I keep soay sheep no money in them but they are very hardy, nice to look at and they shed their fleece so no shearing.
PINNACLE 2,297
No money in eggs, but raising chickens for the table with the odd fancy breeding pair, selling pol etc, could be a winner. It's not the selling of eggs it's the trading. I had a serviced office for 6 months for 6 eggs a week. Our baby sitter will do a 7-12 shift for 6 eggs we have swapped eggs for wine, beers, veg, apples, venison, phesants and a duck. All worth a lot more than a few eggs once someone tastes real fresh free range they realise what they are missing and a trade is easy.

Our kids go to bed at 7.30ish hers go when they like and they are a real pain, she also likes eating chocolate and her hubby won't let her at home so round here she can stuff her face. The eggs are just a gesture so he gets a good fry up for playing Wii with his kid till midnight. We are all happy!!!!

Haha, sounds like a good set up, i was just wishing i could get a 12 hour shift out of someone for a half dozen eggs. . . . .. i'd be sorted! Most of mine get given away, but me, the ferrets and dogs do pretty well!

Sheep can be quite a bit of work compared to other animals. I'll always have them though, Spring time is great when you see a bunch of lambs doing the rounds at full tilt
