lilvixen 26
Just wondered what everyone thought, personally I would go for either Norfolk or Suffolk with Red/muntjac/fallow/roe and CWD............... Would have to agree, live on an estate in suffolk and had all of the above plus there are a few boar at large in the above counties...... Quote Link to post
fozzy41 9
I would deffo go for the Norfolk area around Thetford as they have all 6 deer species there It certainly aint my area, i do know. fozzy Hi, I'm not sure Thetford has CWD of Sika. I have spent a good while down there and never seen any. However the amount of roe was crazy, 16 in one field. What i did find interesting is that the bucks never seemed to carry decent antlers, in spite of the fields being choc-full of sugarbeat and other such goodies. The roe had bad tick problems too. That said, i know that theres CWD on the coastal areas of Norfolk. Parts of Cambridgeshire has some great deer, as does Bedfordshire too, but i cannot think, off hand, of any county with all 6 species in it. But i will stand corrected. Great topic. I was going on when i had an interview there for a rangers job a few years ago and one of the rangers there told that me he had 5 species on his beat, Red, Roe, Munty, CWD, Fallow and the occasional Sika passing through which had to be shot on site. Yes there is lots of deer in Cambs, i`ve shot stacks of munty, Fallow and 1 or 2 CWD around that area. fozzy Edited September 19, 2010 by fozzy41 Quote Link to post
