Attack Fell Terrier 864
Thats a fair opinion and i agree with most of it, but propaganda tv adverts to blame for everyone joining up? They can glam it up as much as they want but every recruit knows (should if theres atleast one brain cell between the ears) theres a good chance of going to war, we all see the news reports, the death stats and casuality rates. Bad things happen at war, yet show me a solider whose never been before that would turn the opportunity down. Alot of non-infantry (artillary/re/reme/tanks etc who go over do so by 'volenteering' Out of curiousity, have you been in the forces BDM? I can't help but notice you've toned right down since BDM joined the debate lol . BDM excellent contribution to the thread .
Bulldogman 55
Thanks, the late night ramblings when stuck on nighshift at a major terrorist target aren't in vain then. I am a patriot, just not a blind one.
jonesr116 1
Little timmy,if your a female you won't really experience 'war' first hand especially as an engineer, and if you do when there's 7.62 short whizzing over your head you'l soon change your tune
littletimmy 71
I toned down with BDM becuase he could produce a factual arguement and back it up. He never just spouted hatred with no apparent reason for it, like all before him. And fair play the army wasn't for you BDM. Its seems to be you either love it or hate it. I've got family and mates who have served in afgan, some who are still serving over there and plenty who are waiting to go over. They all love it. The same time ive got 3 mates who have came out, 2 during training, one after doing afgan, f****d about abit with booze. The first two are now getting on in civi street, the one who done afgan is in the process of re-joining. The armys not for everyone, but those who enjoy it really do enjoy it. And im in no doubt the MOD understand the full effects of war. Were all just pawns in a game of chess. But then what tax payer in the country isn't?

Look up the word arguement in the dictionary, exactly the same meaning as debate It's not really exactly the same thing though is it, a debate is a discussion where there is different view points that doesn't necessarily have to involve people getting aggressive or abusive with each other. Still I think this one has ran it's course. When shall we book ourselves in for the next one gents?

I do think, however, that first hand experience of war will make you re evalute your reasons for joining. No as i have been nice and professional.....we want to see you in uniform? to prove you are a female soldier?

PS. For someone who professes to be a Light years ahead of everyone else who's contributed to this thread (Bar BDM hehehe) Your grammar is quite appalling!
