I think you've nailed it. I'm trying to convince a friend of mine that a good lab is the right dog for him. (He lives in heaven on earth and can hunt almost all Norh american game.) But the fat ones have left him with a bad impression. It's sad.

They are some nice looking working labs lab-tastic.

If you think they need weight on look at mine

 

 

 

Fern is very athletic and fast and very hard hunting

She is only 1.5 years so there is time for her to fill out, but i hope she never changes.
