browning a bolt composite stalker .243

Chatting to a mate of mine today who was getting really really p****d off as he couldn't get his to group at all.

He tried about 5 or 6 different types of quality ammo. He then bunged some cheap nasty stuff. I think it was 90 grain and it grouped perfectly.

He seems to think that it is a more fickle rifle when it comes ammo. Very ammo sensitive. I was thinking about buying one as well but after looking into it I decided that I am going to go for an X bolt which I hope is not going to be quite as sensitive as his.

I did a lot of reading up last night on various websites. The A bolt is cheaper than the X bolt but the X bolt is definitely the better rifle (according to my gun dealer mate. And yes I do trust his opinion as he was trying to sell me an A bolt). Like everything it comes down to budget and if it will do what you want it to do. If you find the right ammo for it I believe that it is a fine rifle.

Mind you. I don't have any practical experience so it is only my opinion based on what I have read from the different sites. As I said before I was trying to decide between the two for myself. I decided that I could afford the X bolt so hopefully will get many years of service out of it.

I sure there are lots of people out there with different opinions
