Passed my DSC1

Your piece of paper now entitles you to buy a lease from the forestry commission and 'manage' a beat somewhere  .Whilst i have no problem with anyone furthering themselves ,i do have a gripe with the money men involved with this exam and the bigotry that goes with it in some circles .I have written on here before about it so dont intend to elaborate but i do hope you will spend time with an EXPERIENCED chap before thinking you are anything more than a novice .Paper ,although needed in this day and age in some places, will never replace time served .Not a personal attack mate and hope you enjoy your sport with your feet firmly on the ground .

Surely it would be best for folk wanting to do the DSC to get experiance first then go and do the course. I know folk that have done it and can't hit a red deer standing side on at 80 yards, end up doing more damage. Its a topic that will go on and on until its sorted out.

Hi Guys. My dad said I cannot get a firearms lisence until i am either 18 and own my own house or I have to pay to do my DSC1. I was reading up on doing my DSC1 (because I have more chance of then getting a firearms lisence ASAP becausei am 14 years old) and it says candidates need to be able to prove they are an accurate shot with a legal deer calibre rifle but to handle a rifle dont you need to have a firearms lisence so I was wondering do you need a firearms lisence to do your DSC1 or not? Many Thanks, Will.
