like any club its only as good as its membership . its dont matter who you are or what you are if you have a trapped terrier the CLUB will respond, it has all ways had it critics it has good and

Why not join it then and give them the benefit of your experience as already stated any club is only as good as its members.

I'm at the other end of a phone.

After my bad experiance with the FMWTC i was also refused entry.....for being a naughty boy :icon_redface: .

As i said great idea but then you put in the human element and it all goes to shite.

I'm not knocking the idea FFS, but i've only used a digger once in twenty odd years it cost me fifty quid and i gladly paid it myself.

The only time i phoned the FMWTC the rep came out and had his picture taken in the dig (which was down about forty foot) and pissed of saying he couldn't here the dog baying, the dog had been to ground for three days and could be heard to bay every now and again, the box and collar had packed up and all i ever found was the arse end of a very eaten fox. If thats the FMWTC then i'll keep my tenner FFS. I would personaly drive the other end of the country to help anyone who's stuck and have offered to do so many times, don't need a badge or a lable to do so FFS.

AS I'VE SAID BEFORE GOOD IDEA BUT MOSTLY WANKERS.

Totally agree with you D. The club will drop anybody, when a member has problems!!! Im talking from experiance. I'll keep my tenner.

The problem with any club is the lack of people who will give time to run them

and the members expectations of a club , many of the working terrier clubs

in exsitance today are clubs that split away from the fellandmoorland for one

reason or another they left and went there own way , if it was not for barry

wade and nwtf and the fmwtc , terrier work would have been banned compleatley

am a member dont go to meets owe subs but pay them to what ever rep i happen to bump

into , i agree with buster but still join , There is power in numbers also the little

red badge and membership card do no harm when asking for permission , ;) even if

you dont join the fmwtc buy a badge off barry wade his work needs supporting, there

will be a vote there will be reform the more members the more they can lobby ,

The red coats will fight their own corner , WHO WILL FIGHT YOURS

When Tyson Cowan etc started up the fell & moorland all those years ago they set a template for most of the terrier clubs to follow in Scotland Jnr o'donnell & Derek Kneller contacted Tyson and then formed the Mid Scottish area of the Fell and moorland. Years down the line the former comitee members formed the Scottish Working Terrier club in between times the NWTF was set up My old man still moans that when the SWTC hired a car to go to the first meeting of the nwtf Jim Montieth had flu and wouldnt drive the car the Cumbria working terrier club split the cost of the car hire but Sandy Guthrie and Mick Steel were'nt insured for it so dearest dad had to drive down and back I think it was in Glocester. The NWTF is the most important thing that that has happenned to terrierwork without it we would all be talking in past tense so take a bow Barry and everybody else that helps run/organise/supports terrier clubs its easy to criticicise its a damn site harder to arrange time off etc to make sure these clubs survive because terrierwork won't survive without them Proud to be a part of it YIS
