jazz_11 5
Well lads its my first thread in this section, im 17 and work in a takle shop full time and part time since i was 14. i love it well as many of you know the mainline cell has been flying out of the shops due to a large amount of advertising through guys like danny fairbrass and other big names. due to the large amount of it selling loads of it has been going in the ponds and before long proved the bait to have. i think the fish are starting to turn slightly off it now which is expected i know our sales have certainly slowed down. im doing a 48hr session next weekend on a lake im a member of, im going to fish cell but maybe in abit of a different way to others have been doing im going for a maximum partical approach and keep the whole boilies to a minimum. for those of you that dont know mainline cell is avery sweet bait smells rather coconutty so here it goes. i got 2kg of the bait 1kg 15mm and 1 kg 18mm. my particles are flavoured in talin again very sweet. on the morning of my session ill put my spod mix togerther and let it soak for all day before i start fishing around 5 oclockish on the friday so we got mixed particles with talin ive flavoured some cell pop ups with cell boilie activator which is for the base mix its very strong so only a small amount needed. im also flavouring some cell dumbells and boilies in cell pva friendly liquid. i got 2 400g bags of cell pellet and also bought a bottle of mainline condensed coconut milk, smells like cell.. into my spod mix willgo the particles chopped up cell boilie my hemp, 1 sachet of cconut flakes 1 jar of coconut milk, about a third of the bottle of the mainline condensed coconut milk along with the pellet. ill fish the extra flavoured pop ups on both rods for night one if unproductive ive got mainline fusion as a back up but i think this could be a killer combo... what you guys think.. watchman 256
sounds like the tactics id use on a small, heavily stocked runs water,id be toning that right down if i was wanting to hit into a few twenties on a hard water where any particle going in will put the kiss of death on a successful session, not all the time granted but regular waters iv fished over the years, but as you already know the lake, being a member of it then i guess your bang on the money, have a good one mate Quote Link to post
jazz_11 5
i did think it was abit ott aswell so i was possibly only going to fish one rod over a bed of it, when i fish with a meaty mix which you should really be doing this time of year i would use tuna fish oil hemp chilli hemp chilli powder with a fair dose of salt so its just likethat but the other way on a sweet version.also the hemp / particle will attract the smaller fish as theyres big roach etc etc in the pond so hoping that will get the bigger ones going. another good little tool i have got hold of is boilie stops in shape of corn with a long stem abit like the korda extenda stops. also to go i my spod mix 2 jars of scopex corn. RaiderBoy 19
sounds like you,ve got it nailed mate and if that doesent work you could always add a few pellets to a little spod mix and make up a pva bag of the pellet/spod mix and cast to any fish showing also how come you get to work in a tackle shop? all my local ones have been killed of by mail order sites Richard Edited September 10, 2010 by RaiderBoy Quote Link to post
jazz_11 5
hiya mate i love my job cant see me doing anything else its no longer a novelty either as i have been doing it for nearly 4 years. im primarily a fly fishermen but have moved onto carp fishing and im loving it. the shop i work in is awesome not your usual tiny little 2 man takle shop (no disrespect to them) its fairly big with 3 shops in 2 citys the mail order side of the shop is massive and we have a catalogue that comes out once a year with all the deals in. saying that were releasing a new catalogue in november the second of this year just a smallish one with a few awesome deals. anyway thats enough of me blabbering on im not trying to promote the shop in anyway but thats a little bit about it.. the pond im fishing is hard at the moment like many waters in the area, guys have been pileing like loads of whole boilies in an not much parti's so im going for a parti approace with the flavour of the boilies bedded in, all the little pieces of coconut and flavouring will get pushed into the silt and will attract any patrolling fish and all that will be there will be my size 15mm cell with a corn boilie stop just hovering 4 inches off the bottom.. im getting excited just thinking about it.. WILF 46,588
To be honest I wouldnt put to much faith in this bait or that....any bait of fair quality fish meal type that you can buy cheap enough to use properly will be good enough. Location, baiting and presentation are the most important things. A couple of well known anglers would give out a few hundred kilos of bait from whatever company was sponsor that year to all the anglers on my old syndicate water, in it went, everyone caught on that and low and behold....it was a legend!! ha ha Dont believe the hype and dont believe the bullshit they write in carp weekly or whatever these things are called now!!
