pre ban brown in scotland

i just wanted to no peoples opinions on a good hare dog in scotland are what type of cross,with the diffrence in terrain,and alot shorter fields'i thinkk you would have needed a dog with a quick burst of speed and good striking what do use think,this is not a topic to start a argument it's just a thought

I have ran hares from just outside london to Perth , with fen bred dogs and to be honest the further north we went the dogs made easy work of the hares , even the dogs that couldnt hack the big land

think your right, its the same in northern ireland we need something very sharp like a 3/4 g/hound dog because of the short fields,and a dog thats puts pressure on the hare right from the start of the course

a good dog will catcth anywhere .there is small fields up here, but theres also fields where the fence is on the horizon.

you bring an out and out fen dog(running 3 in 3) to my neck of the woods mate, and it would do nothing apart from break its legs!! You take a small field hare dog down there, and it will be made to look a little bit worse for wear!! I am not saying it wouldnt catch on the big open fields but it wouldnt excel....

 

I have such a dog that runs the opens of southport, the moors of lancs, and the small fields of the north... I would take any good big open field dog on around here with her....Yet the same dog would win the money every time on its own running ground.... think what your saying...

lol, no but all my mates have, who formed the forley cup etc!!(you'l know who i mean, if you know your dogs) Who sell dogs for 1000's. They wouldnt entertain running them around here. now pls, dont talk rubbish pal...

iam a bit confused your mates have got good dogs but they can only catch in certain areas.

i have one of these dogs your talking about mate. An allrounder. Yet an alleounder is still far better on what it knows then what it doesnt.... come on mate.

lol, i know mate. but look what i said, not all good dogs catch on different land... didnt want a row, dont think he like me saying it to him, and that his comment was wrong...

 

I can lose, and it wont bother me, its a day out for the dog. And proof of what i am speaking...
