Mud and rain.

Now then you airgunners, as the stubble turns into ploughed fields ready for drilling, I decided to make the most of whats left on my patch, where last week the I could drive from one field to another, now its out one gate to drive round the ploughed, and in another to drive whats left of the patch work of un-joined stubbles. The forcast weather wise was a little hit and miss, but I decided to plough on, pardon the pun. It had been raining on and off all day, so I hoped the rabbits had been kept underground and would put in a mass appearance tonight for a feeding frenzy But if luck fed my lifeline, I'd be dead, because after plugging the lamp into the cigar lighter it soon became apparent that it was f**ked, bugger I said to myself. So a quick change of plan so me contecting the gun torch to my sights. A sweep round the field to make sure everything was lined up, and then it p*ssed down so hard I could only just hear the car radio, bugger I thought, again. The rain stopped as fast as it had started, so I gave it half a hour for the rabbits to get there arses out to eat. And we are off, one side of the field produced, nowt! The second side produced two nice healthy eating bunnies, they're mine for a casserole this weekend, yum yum. After the first hour I still only had the two, and in that hour it had rained twice, but at least I had two. Moving onto another field to see if I could better my score. Side ways through the gate hole told me it was a little muddy in here But this is why 4x4's were invented, good clean fun, or not. The lamp lit up a pair of ruby's in the long grass, WHACK! hello number three, your time is up. The rain was becoming a pain by now, not to me, but it was so heavy it was forcing the rabbits underground, and I have to say that if I was wearing a fur coat, I would want to be in the dry too. So I decided this was going to be my last lap, then off home. As I made my way to the gate hole I could see two sets of ruby's on both sides of the gate, rubbing my hands, I felt a double was on, and fancied my chances at harvesting both sets of eyes. WHACK! the first of the double was on the deck, the other was on its back feet looking to see what his buddy was doing, and that was all the time I needed, WHACK! a nice little double to finish the evening, considering the elements, I was chuffed with my small total, and on further inspection while paunching and legging, I found that all five bunnies were eaters, result While paunching the rabbits, in a layby just up the road from me, a panda car toar past with the lights flashing, I quickly shut my passenger door as he blasted past. Aaaah! I thought, and two minutes later, a car aproached with its lights off, hello sir, can I ask what you are doing, I'm shooting rabbits I repied, what firearms have you in the car asked the officer, a HW100TK I said, sub 12 or FAC the officer asked, sub 12 I replied, are you doing any good said he officer, five I said, not bad for this crappy weather said the office, do you need any ID I asked, no your alright said the officer, have a good night, and off he drove, cool I thought, because I hate all the f**king about in the back of panda cars So the end of day shot looked like this, and yes, the Mrs did moan about the blood n guts in the motor again, so this evening I'm trolling Ebay for a decent sized game bag just to keep her happy, if thats possible Keep at them folks.
