I am sure I can get soemthing that states I handle my rifle safely and require no assistance. I am booking myself for a few clay pigeon lessons as I ahve found a package type deal where you get a certificate at the end to show you are competant and understand how to maintain a shotgun. I've had these forms filled out for months but have been a bit scared to put them in in case they turned me down...stupid I know! Ask the club secretary to act as one of your referees. Nik_B 3,790 Posted October 20, 2010 Author Report Share Posted October 20, 2010 Doctor has replied to the police but annoyingly not copied the corespondance to me. They should have recieved the letter today or tomorrow. I completed the last of 5 lessons with a BASC coach today and my shooting has improved in leaps and bounds. While it has been expensive I've really enjoyed having a profesional coach. In contrast the rifle club I shoot at doesn't have any kind of coaching so you just learn by trial and error which after a year I must say is becoming less and less fun. If the SGC comes through I will probably drop the rifle shooting and put the money saved towards more lessons and eventually field shooting. Today I tried a MK70 with a 30" barrel instead of the Browning I normally shoot with, I hit alot more of the targets. I even dusted the rabbit several times and some of the crossers/rollers. The Gun was pretty heavy and my left shoulder was suffering a little by the end even though I am right handed. Anyway....trying to keep my mind occupied as I am really nervous. He's coming next week and asked me to get the cabinet fitted which I take as a very good sign. I am over the moon! Quote Link to post

GMP were profesional and processed the application very quickly concidering most of the time that has passed was waiting for the doctors letter.
