jf1970 328 Posted September 8, 2010 Report Share Posted September 8, 2010 i will soon be weaning my lurcher of puppy food,at the moment iam feeding her a mix of raw and dry food,the raw consists of rabbit,butcher meat,sardines,liver and egg,the dry food is called SKINNERS FIELD and TRIAL 28% protein,what dry food do you's recommend and what should i be looking for in protein ect to go along with the raw,she is a 3/4 whippet 1/4 beddy,5 1/2 months old,cheers......john Quote Link to post Share on other sites

sandymere 8,263 Posted September 9, 2010 Report Share Posted September 9, 2010 I use both complete and raw but go for a lower protein when on an adult diet than the 28% puppy, I use a couple at around 24% and if feeding a lot of raw then even lower or a dog meal/biscuit rather than complete. Dogs do very well on a balenced diet that contaions appropriate protein, fat and carbs and it doesn't realy matter where they come from, cooked, raw etc as long as they are there and digestable, so complete with some raw or raw with biscuit, pasta etc or just complete with table scraps just as long as there is an appropriate amount of protein, fat and carbs.
