masterhunter 3
where can you get genuine traps from at a reasonable price? you can buy duffas mole traps from the actual makers (not copies) Bethel Rhodes 01535 602532. These are very good duffas traps. The Talpex can be purchased from John Underwood. these are copies but are still good 01789720785 regards masterhunter Edited September 8, 2010 by masterhunter Quote Link to post
trappa 518
i just bought genuine talpex from killgerm. Got a deal too as i bought 50. Quote Link to post
salukiwhippet 6
Duffus type I get from flatpack, the talpex come from www.ratbait.co.uk - postage a bit more reasonable than Kilgerm as I only buy a few at a time. Underwood's stuff is very variable from batch to batch - he had some MK6 'Fenns' at a gamefair would have struggled to kill a rat, never mind a rabbit/mink. Others in the same box were just about acceptable. James Quote Link to post
IanB 0
I'd steer well clear of any of that underwood crap ! Quote Link to post
akton 15
Agree with the above Ian you are spot on. look somewhere else to spend your money Quote Link to post
lamaha 7
The old saying you get what you pay for is very true, cheap Chinease made traps are made of poor quality steel and the springs are a joke. Compare them with a good quality, british made piece of kit and there is no comparison. In the long term they will last a lot longer and give you good service. I have just ordered a fox trap from Bethel Rhodes anybody got experience of one? It looked the best option and best balance between quality and price. You know it makes sense, "Buy British" i feel a campaign coming on! Quote Link to post
comanche 3,108
There are plenty of cosmetically excellent copies of the Talpex about at half the price or less than the originals .Sadly they are let down by springs that are only half as powerfull. As spring strength is one of the features that makes the Talpex so adaptable to different trapping situations it is best to pay-up and stick with the real deal . My local Scatts sell Duffus types by Albi at a very reasonable price . They seem crudely assembled and always need a load of tweaking and bending but once set-up do the job and last quite as well as more expensive ones I've bought in the past . Quote Link to post
