Sea fishing at Littlehampton, West Sussex

Im in the process of moving into the area and have seen alot of fishermen fishing in the mouth of the river and off the wall. I have virtually no experience of that kind of fishing but i like the idea of it. Does anyone have any information on it? What gear, what you'd be trying to catch, bait etc?
