Ive had a go with one of these, if the shaft was 4 or 5" shorter and the head was a bit bigger in the width then it'd be a great improvement for me, as it is its more suited to be used as a graft. Very nicely constructed though.

 

Last time I was trusted with the pretty little thing....

The army place in middleton has the rounds plastic handle ones for €12, of Old MacDonalds Farm shop in Carlow has the Bellman and flint ones or the bull dog ones. What he dont have he will order for you. All the best

I got mine from Blackpool pleasure beach , it came with a lovely little yellow bucket . Really handy for back filling ..............

Hi

I've snapped the neck of my favourite Spear and Jackson shovel today.

The cast snapped where the neck meets the handle so it's going to virtually impossible to repair.

Where do you buy the stainless shovels from? How expensive are they and how long do they take to be delivered?

Amazon did these for about 12 quid, no need to cut down, even got foot plates.

That shovel head is very similar to the one that snapped.

I was thinking of getting one of those American ones - does anybody sell them in the UK?
