olivhar01 0
I found some time over the weekend to pop down to dorset to reccy a new permission that i have been asked to manage the deer on, close to an estate that i work for. I arrived @ 7.00 pm and immediately came across a group of hinds with their calves and a couple of prickets feeding on the cover strip. Due to a poor backstop a shot was not possible so carried on around the boundary where i found an ideal spot to sit up and wait for the deer to come out of the thick cover next to some wheat stubble fields. Just before dark a couple of hinds came out to feed @ about 100yds then a stag came out and presented itself perfectly broadside for me to take a good heartshot with the .243 steyr, the stag reared up and ran for 40yds before falling just short of the cover. A good 8 pointer and a good start to the season sorry for the poor image but the shot was taken in the dark atb Cal Quote Link to post
