bunnys 1,228
The bone man we use is a greyhound man, when asked about the atlas bone breaking he said if a piece has come of the side either left or right, its best not to feel around or move it just let it fuse together where it is. if its a chip on the top of the bone due to the dogs head being forced down towards his chest thats the one that takes alot of time to heal, you could be lucky and the dog get all movment back or it could hinder the dog the rest of its life, on a good note a 2yr old dog has got a better chance of healing. hope this helps............steve nice one thanks stew hi lads seen this in a little grew left to fuse on its own he healed with a slightly one sided neck but he still lamped rabbs hope you have some luck with him been here myself not very pleasant ,but of course he could make a complete full recovery and have no physical side affects atb bunnys Quote Link to post

skycat 6,173
Robert Meek, the chiropractor, told me this isn't an uncommon injury in working dogs: like was said, when the dog takes a fall and its head snaps round sideways. Most heal OK to run again. Quote Link to post
