God as buzzing like! 1st bunny with 8.1/2 month old pub! :toast: .

It was the 2and slip the night bout 30yard away just as she got up to it the little bunny jumped up in the air and she lost it when it was up their but soon as it hit the ground she was on it like shit off a sick it ran round for about 200 / 300 yard and i was sill thinking she would miss as she's missed the last 7 slips i have giving her.

what makes it better is i got her at 3 month's old off a little divy lass (18year old bang in to drugs wanted £30 for some tac )

when i got her she had her hair falling out " mites" never been flea-ed or wormed and had a bad temper and would bite us for putting a hand on her paw or her neck and she was skinny as f**k well just in a bad state!

I've never had her out with an older lurcher as this is my 1st lurcher so all i've done is walked about with the lamp and letting her see the bunny she has picked it up very fast!

The 1st one's she just seemed to run along keeping them out of cover but not striking at them but every time she seemed to run faster!

So last week we had a walk right out the way me the son n 2 springer and the the young springer i bread court a bunny so i think since then its CLICKED that she has got to catch them!! :boogie:

Anyway here's some very bad photo's :bye:

fair play for the dog getting one mate but just seems a bit young to be running it if you ask me,missing seven slips indicates it just not strong or fit enough to be running,id prob hold it back for another couple months, then maybe choosing your slips a bit better will give the pup all the chance it needs for instant results hopefully, jmo but good luck with it mate

spot on advice mate, seven slips is too much for a young dog starting out, its all about building confidence, and in the end ive seen dogs yapping because they just cant get too the bunny, try ferreting a few in nets etc, and the odd run. Good luck

Nice one, but be careful with her. I very nearly buggered my dog up by giving him too many slips on things he didn't catch last year. He started screaming after the rabbits.. :( Luckily a few months off nipped it in the bud & I started giving him realistic slips and doing more with the lamp.

Just in case its coming out wrong the 7 slips were not on the same night! and she never had a problem keeping up to them

Her problem was she was not "striking" at them!

she seen about 30/40 rabbits on the lamp and at the most she will get two runs a night when am out lamping un till she's a year+

The 1st 3 slips were not slipped where i wanted her to be slipped as i have a cheep slip lead and when she pulled hard it would slip her < my mistake

so i have got her a collar and cut an old rope lead up and slip it throw that way so i have full control of when she gets a run!

Thanks
