robinallinson 0
The only advice I would give anyone looking at buying a nuttall terrier directly from Mr Brian Nuttall is to give this GENTLEMAN the respect he deserves in the terrier world, call him have a chat about the terriers and visit his kennels in Middlewich Cheshire and make your own mind up. Happy Hunting Hi, Would you be able to tell me how to contact the legendary Brian Nuttall? Or must I go abroad to find at Nuttall type dog? Any pointer would be welcome as he is not on the net. grafter-man 43
In My Opinion, Brian Nuttall indeed has done a lot for the World of Working Terriers, more than ANYONE who slags him off on messageboards for damn sure. I can't think of any 1 man who has done as much as he, that is still alive and working his terriers. He does deserve respect for what he has done for our sport. To be perfectly honest, every terrier I own has Brian Nuttall's old working blood running deep and hot through their veins and I am well satisfied with their perfomance or working ability. His line of terriers are responsible, or, are in the lineage of many, many, working families that are being consistantly worked today. All that being said, and I truly feel it to be accurate, I have the same questions as Busterdog, and I am damn sure not even attempting to slag Brian Nuttall in any shape form, or fashion. Just a few questions or asking your opinions, Will he sale a terrier to anyone that has funds in hand without regard? Does he breed with the sole intention of profit in mind? I have never spoke to the gentleman about buying terriers and I suppose I should ring him and ask him first hand to be fair. The only reason I posted these questions is I'm sure from reading the posts here some have worked, bought, etc, or had dealings direct with him. I've always thought and was told Brian was maintaining his line of terriers with his breedings and selling excess pups etc for more than a fair price, but as I said I've never purchased anything from him direct. all the best Quote Link to post

Waz 4,266
If a mans willing to buy-in a litter then put his name on it, that makes him a peddler in my book. Not that many years ago.. I remeber a lad getting a dog an bitch from the same litter direct from BN. I think he was away working or something and the bitch came in and was mated by the dog. He said that BN bought some of the litter. If this is 100% accurate, is it wrong to put his name on the pup/s he bought in? (by the way, neither dog nor bitch would have seen much at time of mating, just to add). Quote Link to post

Bn got wind of it and offered an amount but the guy thought he would draw more in the LOOT selling his blackuns individually:tongue2: Quote Link to post

Terrier loony 0
I've recently been given a bitch of Nuttall lines because the people who bought her didn't have a clue about terriers, This little bitch is one of the most loyal, intelligent.gamest dogs I have ever had (although she can be a bit vocalwhen you dont always want it) She is only 9 months old so hoping she will grow out of some unwanted habits she has picked up from novice dog owners. All I can say is if Brian has any more he doesn't want contact me!!! Quote Link to post
vulpes86 22
I only joined today and having been away from the scene for a while had to have a little chucklt to myself at the sort of interest Mr Nuttalls name creates ... I cant comment on the man myself as I havent met him but hats off to his longevity . I'm fast approaching my half century and the guy I first started hunting with some 35 years ago worked a pair of nuttalls to rat rabbit and fox with great success . I think it was Oscar Wilde who once said "there is only one thing in the world worse than being talked about ..and that is not being talked about " .. so hats off to the old man and long may he continue to have an influence in the working terrier world at whatever level Quote Link to post
