As long as rabbits have food, then they will breed no matter what month it is :)

I dont think so ive never killed rabbits with young in them from october to December.

how often do you go out .

Not very often by the sounds of it.

Over the years I've had pregnant rabbits in every month, in the middle of hard frosts and at times of heavy snow falls.

Keyboard warrior whats wrong your wife not let you go any more so you get smart with someone whos actually out there doing it.

From september to end of feb most weekends and sometimes twice a week, and never have i seen young in the belly in october november and december

Aye but it's the fifth of september . . . . . . it was August 5 days ago. You would expect to see young in august so 5 days later they are not ALL going to have magically disappeared. You are very lucky if you have never seen a pregnant rabbit at the start of september. . . . . . its very normal within their breeding cycle, especially as it is weather dependant, at the moment its pretty warm and there is food everywhere so there will be plenty of young. We were bolting little uns in the snow at the start of this year.

Bolting young in the snow now that does surprise me because 2 of our spots have been seriously killed off badly because of the snow last winter there no were near as many about as normall they were starving that musch you could see at the bottoms of the trees were they had been eating the bark.

Aye mate it REALLY surprised me, and i wouldnt say it was a normal occurance, but just saying that they CAN breed at anytime, its not time of year dependent. We had the same as you, loads dying due to weather and the trees were being stripped. However in this one spot there was some really good shelter and a decent food supply (being put down for livestock) and we entered the ferrets in feb and low and behold a little one came straight through the net. . . . . . only one so the rest must have died. Sadly the terrier pinned it.

As for your initial post if you look outside you can see why your still getting young.

I got one mate and very lovely she is to, but sadly she lives away most of the time as she is now in university. . . . . .so thats me left alone in the house, just the dogs, ferrets and chooks for company. . . . . o and ironically one rabbit. . . . .. . and we live in the MIDDLE of no where. Excellent for the hunting but a bit sparse on social interactions . . . . . .
