max abell 196 Posted September 5, 2010 Report Share Posted September 5, 2010 We went out last night to do some lamping on some local council ground where we have permission to ferret and shoot and although it was not the best of lamping weather ie not much wind and not that overcast night we decided to give it a go anyway after spending about 30mins on the phone to the police to let them know where and when we were going with what motor and what guns we were taking we were given a refrence number we always phone the police on certain permissions fo ours coz they are a bit public sensitive and get a refrence number to save any hassell Well we turned up with the 22 rimfire and our new F.A.C airarms s410 and started lamping we were getting a few then all of a sudden the whole field lit up with headlights and blue flashing lights and in seconds we were surrounded with police cars you would have thought we had just robbed a bank after explaining to the sweeney that we had permission showed them written permission which we always keep in the motor and gave them the refrence number they finaly belived us the most annoying thing was they didnt even appoligise for not checking there system to see if anyone was carrying out vermin control that night whats the point of phoning the police before you go if they are still dont check there system first ? and what a waste of police resorces on a saturday night ended up with 19 rabbits but the police ruined what could have been an even better night IN THE WORDS OF H.M THE QUEEN WE WERE NOT AMUSED 1 Link to post

black lab 3 Posted September 7, 2010 Report Share Posted September 7, 2010 I think they do it sometimes for a practise run, just incase they get the real thing. it has happened to myself once with the armed responce, and they said they had a call out and it was cancelled, they heard my call and i was a practise run, [shit myself} everything was all ok my end, also had called Police office Link to post
