Hunting 12-9-06

 

Out sunday with a couple of friends. Beautiful older farm with lots of outbuildings was the first stop. We walked quite a bit without finding anything. This area was hit pretty hard by the ice storm last week, in this picture I hope you can see the tree branches snapped, we saw this everywhere.

Heading back towards the truck, Tyke found a tight spot he insisted on getting in. Clearing out the tube a bit he plunged back in. He was only in a foot, whined only a bit then continued to work at something. Thinking it was still too tight, we pulled him out with a lot of prying and saw that he had someone’s blood on him.

 

Susie reached in and pulled out a small mangled possum. He was finished off quickly.

 

 

 

We moved back over to one of the outbuildings and another dog was soon in under a feed crib with a raccoon. We let him play for a while then pulled him out and moved on.

Visited another nice older farm now surrounded by sub divisions. Walked quite a bit with no other finds, so we called it a day. Slow day with nothing in the afternoon, but nice to be out again as always
