Will the foxes run out?

Recommended Posts

See now it's just become some kind of dogmen vs riflemen bullshit. . . . . shame it was a good thread.

Did you honestly think it would turn out any different?........

99% of the time its not a problem fox but a trigger happy person wanting numbers to brag to there mates. you shoot 10 out of 10 fox's how many do you catch out of 10 with a dog no where near that.

IMO the fox thankfully will never be totally eradicated through shooting or hunting with dogs but i carnt get my head around the big obsession with dog men and shooters alike wanting to kill large num

Aaron what is with all this childish tittle tattle?   You assume that shooting rifles is easy...... well that just goes to show that you know as little about rifles as I do about dogs. You say it t

No but at least people kind of discussed it for a bit rather than just saying 'thats a f*****g load of shit because it isnt my opinion or isnt happening around me in my own personal limited experiance, so therefore must be all wrong'. . . . or just perceiving it as some kind of attack, this place is rife with paranoia.

last time we went out lamping we see 7 and shot 2, the time before that we see 17 and shot 3 no one else goes shooting on that land, it will be a very long time before they get shot/coursed out, they move about all the time covering different lands, on an earlier post some one said they didnt have any thing left on thier land, why would a fox be on land where thier is no food for him to hunt? they move to where the food is, its not cause the lampers have shot them all, if a fox has been shot at at night and missed its going to be very wary next time he gets shot at again if ever, they here a motor coming down the track at night and there gone they aint going to wait for a lamp to get on them. only the stupid foxes get shot and ones that cant run get coursed

I for one never ment it go into a row but i just said it as i see it around me and willum you have lied to me about shooting that land(once lied to twice shy pal) and anyway your mates are liability's,blind shooting at eyes through a hedgerow and how would old cole feel about the fact those eyes were his jacob ewes and that lad is safe to own a gun? ffs.I walk that ground with my dogs and to be honest i'm glad i have the peace of mind i or my dogs won't be bumping into him or you there and i'll never help a rifle boy gain permission ever again.

The old addage 'kill one and two will go to its funeral' comes to mind. No matter how hard you hit them there will always be pockets of land where either shooting / running or trapping them isn't safe or practical.

As for the guns/dogs friction its so predictable that the same (few) people will try and slag off fox / rabbit / hare shooting at any opportunity its boring  Both require skill and both deserve respect. Shrug the chip off your shoulder and stop embarrassing yourselves... its pathetic.

Fence hopper. Have you ever fired a rifle?

I run dogs and shoot, and can guarantee you if foxes were as easy to shoot as you make out, a keepers life would be a hell of a lot easier.

You have no concept of windage, distance, drop not to mention personal capabilities.

If I had £1 for every fox missed would be happy days.

Must be great to form such a bold opinion having little or no knowledge of the subject.
