rat baiting

Recommended Posts

If there is rat's in the area it wont take long for them to gather around the food source.. ;) .. the best stuff i have found is wheat or barley just put in carrier bag's and tie them up to keep it dry they will sharp put a hole in it to get at the food.. and if you have sheet's or board's laying around stick a good amount under them aswell..

Millet

cheers mate

couldn't give a better answer than that just mybe add a little bit of something for smell it makes for quicker reactions. I have found the best is tinned dog food mixed with peanut butter and spread it out probable best to do this on the under side of the sheets that you have. Good luck sambo

Just to add, mate; If you're working in an Urban enviroment? Do exactly as Millet suggests, only swap the grain for old, rendered meat fat. 'Dripping', basicly.

City rats are so used to feeding off Mac Donalds and Kebabs ..... I don't think I even want to remember all this! It's a huge part of why I got out of the cities anyway!

But, yeppers: Country rats like grain and city ones like grease. That's a fair rule of thumb :good:

Cant fault the answers but an explanation as to why these baits are used is here-The small partical baits are best which dosnt allow rats to carry off the bait to consume out of the reach of the dogs and forces them to eat it where you want them to and not vice versa .A pile of logs with grain tipped over them will do as well .Make sure all escapes are cut off before moving the baited area .Good hunting .
