Some Gos Stuff

Just a few pic's from some lads from this neck of the woods! The finn male with the Duck is a cracking bird flying around 1lb 13, He'll be going in a breeding project with my proven Tatton park female next season, the Finn female on the Hare is flying around 2lb 10 - 11, they're both cracking birds flown most days and pretty much don't pull out of anything.

From my point of view its been a bad year with one thing and another, I certainly could'nt do a Gos Justice the way things have gone so my female has gone to a genuine good guy who will. things are getting sorted now so I have taken up the mother to her a 8 year old finnish Breeding female to finish the season off with a meet coming up in this area on the 17th this month in mind.

The video is pretty long taken just after a Hare was rolled over by one of the lads with his Finn female, if anyone can tell me how to get film from Video to the net I'll get some stuff fired on from some of the season :hmm:

Cheers

Cheers Lads! even though I have been in the wildness for a while I have enjoyed the pic's coming up and the Banter on the site :clapper:, the lad in the pic Timmy with the Finn male had a cracking flight I witnessed a few weeks back, I walked a bramble ditch while he waited in the Beet field oposite trying to flush a couple of hen birds when Bang! out come a good strong cock bird which headed for the wood way across the other side of the field, at one moment it looked like the old cock was going to put into the wood but seeing the gos gaining on him he lifted up nearly verticle and cleared the canopy of the woods with the Gos still pumping hard behind him, from there on they was unsighted.

out came the telemetry across the beet field and through the wood with a signal coming from the far end of the field through the woods, I tell ya this was a long long flight but he stuck to it and took his prize! weather he took his bird in the air is another thing but this was no ordinary flight it was nothing short of a classic with a confident Gos pumping flat out on the arse of a Pheasant without loseing ground.

Nice one Hywel :signthankspin:

Since around september my heads been all over the place mate, I certainly didn't have the enthusiasm with other things on my mind to make a decent Gos! I couldn't have done one Justice whatsoever, I think to get the best of these birds expecially the P/R one's you need to be 100% commited like Turk! without doubt he is a Guy on a mission sky high with enthusiasm .

I'm looking to the 2007 Breeding season now and then flying a P/R youngster, I need to clear all the crap thats going on in preparation of the commitment and being held to ransom by a new Gos fresh out of the aviary. feck I thought when I reached 40 things would start to get easier but things have a habit of jumping up and smacking me in the face just when things seem Rosey.

Take care
