Ideation 8,216
Do you remember that picture that was on here with the pup that had bent legs? What was wrong with it, my mate has a terrier pup that has it in one leg he thinks? I've not seen the pup. Quote Link to post

Ideation 8,216
Yes i think it was! Quote Link to post
hogdog 61
Osteochondrodysplasia - (form of dwarfism) can cause bendy legs but that seems unlikely if it's just one leg. Viral infections can cause it too - more likely. Quote Link to post
stainlee 27
I haven,t seen the pictures you mention , if the legs are bowed it could be rickets , calcium injection and calcium / vitamin enriched diet can sort it. ATB Quote Link to post
Rain 232
gonna say the same thing rickets lack of calcium Quote Link to post
shushycatcher 219
so can line breeding too close, father daughter etc. Quote Link to post
Ideation 8,216
Yer i was thinking rickets but apparently the leg is bending inwards - i'd have expected it to bow outwards if it was rickets. Quote Link to post
salclalin 240
Could be to much Protien in the Food.A Mate of mine was Giving his Dog De Bordeaux Pups 29% Protein in teir Food and Caused them to Have Bent Legs Quote Link to post

Ideation 8,216
is it the pup what had to much exercice and the growth plates sliped in its nuckle Not sure it was a wee saluki looking pup i think with all four legs bowed inwards at the knuckle. Quote Link to post
Bosun11 537
Ideation, is there bull blood in the terriers make-up?? Yep, it was collie/grey who had the problem with her bull blood lurcher. If i'm right on a drop of bull blood, find and read the posts and don't give the pup any free running. Quote Link to post

DogMagic 461
is it the pup what had to much exercice and the growth plates sliped in its nuckle Thats it. Far to common. Caused by to much protein in diet and to young for muscle bulk. A pup shouldnt be given so much exersise that it builds muscle like the hulk. Save the high protien food and the heavy work for once they have finished growing. Quote Link to post
