good worker

well got a couple ov ferrets of this bloke a no they are from a workin back round but i am putting them in good sets but there not bring a think out is there any think i could do to improve on this or do i just have to stick it out longer with them till they do scatter rabbits out cheers

you could go to a burrow with 200 entrances doesnt mean theres a rabbit there, think you need to tell us more about the age of the ferrets? how many times have you been out with them? theyre not just born ultimate workers mate same as other animals need bringing on a ferrets the same, some youngsters will piss about a bit but after a few outings you should see them coming on better everytime, although some ferrets just aint go it in them, most ferrets will bolt rabbits but not all are good workers.

there a bout a year old got a hob and a jill and have had them out on 3 days tring new holes all the time

do you know there are rabbits in them mate? is there a dog marking them? are the ferrets going in the holes? staying for any time? fur or blood on them when they come out?

i have chased rabbits into the sets and u can see the fur at the entrece on some ov the holes and fresh droppins the ferrets stay down bout 5 mins then i put them dow other holes on the set and i am quie when settin up cheers

If you chase the rabbits into the warren, they will be reluctant to bolt anyway, also, fur and droppings don't always = rabbits at home

It'd be better to walk the rabbits in gently, so they go in in a calm un harassed way, then they're likely to bolt a little easier

if you have chased rabbits into the sett then ferret it straight away they wont bolt they will take there chances down the hole leave the sett for a while and let the rabbits settle then enter your ferrets i take it your not using a locator

so should i just keep working them and see if the resutlts change and yer i am using alocator mk1 not the newstbut works a treat

cheers for the help mate all just bear with them for themo but if nothink happing after a thew week will have 2 get some new ones

just stick with them mate they will come good there still only young you wont see there full potiental untill there second season but then again all ferrets dont make the grade
