starting pup for rabbits

Recommended Posts

i was wondering if it would be ok to use long net surrounding a warren instead of the usual purse nets when starting my wee bitch on the rabbits, alot of the holes round my way are covered by brambles ect and are hard to get into to set a purse net,cheers......john

Shes 16 months now, she only started at the end of last season really, but took to the long net well, although there were a few collisions. She's whippet with a dash of collie.

personal preference mate. Id start off with the net close, just letting the pup nail them in the net to get the ball rolling, this is all i have done with the long net so far. My pup was fine at noticing the net when rabbits hit it,but when walking near it she often stood on the slack and became tangled.good luck anyway!
