whippeter69 88
Went to pick up my rifle today. Its a Sako FinnFire .22LR fitted with a HAWKE 3-9x50 Airmax Scope and a SAK Moderator. Went after school to pick it up and have been with my mentor o ZERO it in and it was a lovely sound when it fired. We shot about 15 bullets to get it zeroed at 50yds and finished with the pic below of the group of 3 shot at 50yds. 3 Shots at 50YDS Will be putting a butler creek sling on it and harris bipod soon. Im very chuffed with this rifle, cant wait to get it out on rabbits. Bullets used were Winchester Subsonic. Cheers Quote Link to post
Deker 3,478
You are fortunate to find one of these Varmints, they do not come on the market very often, one of the all time great .22lr in my view, if a little heavy. ATB!! Edited September 2, 2010 by Deker Quote Link to post

Deker 3,478
Cheers lads. If i do fancy changing my sling, what do you guys recommend ? I have the SuperslingII on most of mine now. Been through a few over the years and as they break they are being replaced by these. They work for me, even on the Centrefires, as none of mine are Heavy rifles, all the rimfires have them now as you can see. Quote Link to post
heritage 202
I use the akah slings..... there hand made moose leather, very soft and supple yet increadibly strong, there also velour lined...expensive but worth every penny... Quote Link to post
LordGamebore 0
You need a mentor for a .22lr? Quote Link to post
markha 99
LordGB - I guess he is under 18 then? Sling wise I have been using a Butler Creek thick padded neoprene sling, it was about £25, all good so far after 18months use. Very comfortable and the sharkskin backing makes it stick to your shoulder, great when hopping gates, no worries about it slipping off. all the best Mark Quote Link to post
Deker 3,478
You need a mentor for a .22lr? Was that a question or a statement? He needs what his region tells him he needs! Quote Link to post

It was a question, hence the question mark. I've only ever heard of mentors for centerfire. Quote Link to post
Deker 3,478
You need a mentor for a .22lr? Was that a question or a statement? He needs what his region tells him he needs! It was a question, hence the question mark. I've only ever heard of mentors for centerfire. Mentors are not a legal requirement for centrefires, but some regions like them at times, they are not a legal requirement for rimfires either, but regions are demanding them more and more these days. If a region decides to add that as a condition most individuals will endeavor to comply for fear of not getting a grant. I have had two guys come to me in my area for help with .22lr mentoring recently! Hence...... He needs what his region tells him he needs! Does make you wonder?? Quote Link to post
