seany 54
Keep at it Mat,im new to making nets myself.I got my gear from jbs Nets £23.00 inc postage and you get about 15 nets worth of twine, needle, draw cord, rings plus a DVD,the only thing is the chap on the video is left handed so its a little confusing, but the big fishes video link is much easier to follow. Dont give up it took me about a week to master it and i still muck up Good luck Seany P.s Put a plaster on ye little finger Quote Link to post
max abell 196
Hi mate have made all my own purse nets for years and have used most of the main dealers ie jbs nets kp&s nets and bridport nets but dont think you can beat agouti (nigel) for price good gear and fast delivery good luck in making your own nets its easy once you have got the hang of it but be prepared to make a lot of f**k ups to start with and sore fingers but it wiil be worth it Quote Link to post

ace32 4
not really, you only make a few mistakes,i put tape around my fingers when having a session,as i got dry skin, you can unpick the knots, good practice for you, soon have lots of nets custom made, all sises and colours, courtesy of agouti, ian Quote Link to post
matmorgan 49
my ready made nets are hemp and are really good.but what do you think of spun poly or 10z nylon?. Quote Link to post
Davidh 5
I have made a few nets recently. I use hemp as I find nylon very tough on the fingers as I was told to double knot it, so it does not slip. Keep practicing you'll soon get the hang of. I can now make a net and watch telly (who says men can't multi task!!!) Quote Link to post

seany 54
I dont know about the others but when you start if your going to go wrong its either on the top ring(forgeting to do one front knot one back)or in the first three meshes where it a bit cramped. It took me about five attempts but didnt use that much twine. Also i use a sharpened pencil to pick the knots.
