Bull x skin problems

Just after a bit of advice really.. My lurcher Charlie has really dry skin and seems to loose fur in a few places( elbows, bak legs) but the worst is his ears! He is really dry at the back of his ears and a bit scabby... It does seem to bother him a bit because he doesn't really like anyone touching them. So what I want to know is, has anyone had these problems with their dog and how to get rid of it..?

something simalar happened to my dog i gave him a bath using hibiscrub and it seemed to clear up .. i also treated the shed he sleeps in with hibiscrub and a flea spray to just incase that was the problem

try putting vaseline on the dry skin every day for a few days, it worked with a bull lurcher of mine

i had a dog that suffered from this a few years back,after trying all kinds of stuff and never really curing it i took her to the vets,his advice was that she was allergic to grass and i should try and keep her away from it then a friend suggested i try something called camrosa ointment(i think)so i give it a try and it worked wonders it cleared it up completly and stopped it coming back it really was good stuff,not sure if they still do it tho,this was quite a few years back

just checked mate,they do still make it,give it a try its the bollox

It sounds like a skin atopy to me that can be caused by a veriaty of things like the dogs bedding it can also be triggerd of by things including a huge veriety of pollens from environmental plants.Have you tried supplements of essential fatty acids.If the dog clears up in the winter more likely hes allergic to some type of pollen.atb dell

ya you just rub it in mate,look it up it works on all kinds of conditions and poacher says it could be the diet and he may be reet,it sounds like your feeding complete(i may be wrong)if you are then get it off the shite,most of it contains things your dog doesnt need,my mates dog was losing hair and it turned out to be caused by wheat in the complete he was feeding if i were you mate id get it on raw,you wont see an healthier dog,and if you already are then ignore what ive just wrote and look that cream up

Losing fur behind ears, thighs, flanks can sometimes be caused by a thyroid imbalance. The fur can also feel harsh and dry. I give one of my dogs Kelp powder as she has a similar problem (can't say for sure if it is the same as your dog as I haven't seen your's in the flesh) and it has completely cured the problem. Also, she is slightly intolerant to most cereals: can only eat rice. Now she only gets meat, carcases, tripe, fish and a bit of rice. 100% improved.

mine used to lose a bit on her ears seems it was straw that i used for her bedding causing it,changed her bedding and put baby oil on her ears for a week or so cleared up in no time and never had the problem since
