Malt 379
Flump, you keep banging on about us doing research, why don't you do some yourself. Your posts come across as one sided, almost fanatical in their nature, there's no balance to your arguments.. Why do you keep insisting that animal rights are on a par with human rights? There is a difference to most sane people...

TFFT!!! There's been some very odd posts by some very odd folks lately... Flump can crack one off, er, I mean crack on with his/her research elsewhere, until the tw*t rejoins with another user name.... What'll it be next time, flump? Clanger? Barba Pappa? Morf? RicW 67
Academic? OK, here goes. It is clear to me that the Flump knows less than nothing about the concept of "rights". Under British law only mentally competent adults have rights. With those rights go responsibilities. One of those responsibilities is not causing unnecessary suffering to animals. That overrides the right to dispose of ones property as one wishes. You could indeed buy a Veyron and take a sledgehammer and chainsaw to it. Cars don't feel pain Flump. Of course, your family might choose to exercise their right to apply to a court to have you sectioned. Remember the guy who got clobbered for drowning a squirrel? A wild animal is the property of the person on whose land it is killed or captured (unless there is an agreement between landowner and hunter). That silly man owned that squirrel and had a perfect right to dispose of it humanely. Drowning is not considered a humane method of disposal, and he was prosecuted for cruelty. A farmer who maltreats his property in the form of livestock will be prosecuted for cruelty. If a hunter were proven to be using cruel methods, ie non-locking snares, he would be prosecuted for cruelty, and if the permission owner were proven to have known about it he too would be legally liable. Rights and responsibilities, Flump, are inextricably linked. You cannot claim the one without accepting the other. It's not so long ago that women and children were treated in law as chattels. You may wish for a return to those days, but I suspect that you will find yourself in a minority of one. Ric. Edited September 3, 2010 by RicW

Ideation 8,216
i didnt say that cat didnt deserve to live but it doesnt have the right to as a human does, animals cannot have rights and animal welfare legislation is the first step towards achieving animal right's anyway as i said do some research, here's a link to set you off http://jealousattention.blogspot.com/2009/07/why-animals-dont-have-rights.html Firstly let me wade into this by saying. . . . . YOU. ARE. A. COMPLETE. f*****g. MORON No we have set the tone. . . . . They were puppies not a cat, so actually pay attention to what your arguing about! As for animals not having rights etc and it all being a matter of morals, well it's clearly not, as animals cruelty is in fact ILLEGAL, is it not? If i own a horse that irritates me and so i decide to starve it to death, or set it on fire, i may get in some legal trouble, would you not think? Same goes for hunting certain animals in a certain way I.E I find it perfectly morally ok to chase a fox with a dog, if i do so in front of some members of the police force and the RSPCA, i don't think they are going to accept that its merely a case of differing morals. You seem to have a lot of difficulty differentiating between property that is living and property that is inert. That is the defining line. As you said - morals cannot be legislated, but actions can. It's not really a problem (apart from for you and those around you) if you enjoy the idea of arse f*****g a sheep and then chopping its head off, thats morals, but if you actually do it then you ARE open to legal repercussions. . . . because thats an ACTION. You acted on your morals, so bringing yourself into the world of legislation. As you also said animals dont have a 'right' to live. No. . . true. . . . but they have a right to die humanly, as far as is possible. No ones having a go at the woman for killing the pups, but for the METHOD by which she kills them. Obviously her apparent joy also rattles a few cages. Do you not understand the concept of limited/restricted rights? I.E - the right to a humane death, and certain standards while living are impossed and have been for a long time on farm live stock, but your still allowed to ride, kill, eat etc them. As has been mentioned - a child, person with mental disabilities and those in prision all cannot vote, have their movements restricted, are basiclly 'kept' by a person or institution, however they still have some RIGHTS, even if others are restricted. Sadly, you think that you are rather intelligent, which you may well be in many senses, but from these conversations it appears you are hugely lacking in many respects. Your homophobia also indicates that you can't be that smart. I have a feeling you have read a few books and gained some knowledge (or at least the ability to repeat setences), but as they say, a little knowledge is a dangerous thing. . . . or rather, in this case A f*****g IRRITATING one. Finally. YOU ARE A MORON!

sikastag_1 689
i couldnt watch all of that video and found the little i did disgusting, but at the end of the day those pup's were just property,we should have the right to do with our property as we like. i should be able to buy a bugatti veyron and smash it up with a hammer if i choose to,my property my choice,a bad choice but shouldn't be an illegal one. wee bit of a difference though is there not? hitting a bit of metal to throwing pups in a river? so you were your mothers property if she took you to a bridge or a cliff at say 10 years old and threw you off then its ok because your her son/daughter and she should be allowed to do what she wants with you? dont give us that shit. what she done was f****n disgracefull if you ask me and filming it then putting it on the net? something missing in her upstairs, bottom line is she was careless in having an unwanted litter if she would have been more carefull she wouldnt have been in that position.
