a little help

a mate of mine has been messing about with pics on my pc and now i have tried to post my pics on forum and its telling me file not found and i have noticed pics are in bitmap form and not jpeg..how do i reset my pc to jpeg..its driving me barmy!!!!!! :wallbash:

I think the pics are stored on your comp in their original format and its up to you to change the format so if they originally bitmap they are stored as bitmap... i'm almost sure there is no default setting for saving pictures as ...

HEY ALREADY ADMITTED IM A PC IDIOT!!!! surely there is a simple solution to this,before i throw pc through the window

but have had this pc for years and everything i upload is always saved as jpeg so why would it suddenly change to bitmap,did nt even know the word bitmap existed til tonight

I think but not quite sure about this but when you connect a device to your computer to upload pics to it, it will use a software (eg camera software) to upload them with. Once this is done once the computer will use this software automatically from here on after and the software used will but again not quite sure convert them automatically to .jpeg, .bitmap etc. It could quiet be your mate has changed the default software that you were using previously to a different type that converts it to .bitmap.

 

Without knowing all the details its quite hard to tell...
