brendy73 12 Posted August 30, 2010 Report Share Posted August 30, 2010 i keep a couple of hounds well 3 and a pup. i had everything sorted to head out at the weekend with them. start of the season for me happy days, at last, great, and then last nite went up to feed them 1 bitch in season and the other coming in aswell and all the dog wants to do well u can guess!! fck fck fck again.. ive have heard that there no point taken them out when there in season as there heads r all over the place. any opinions? desertdog 149 Posted August 31, 2010 Report Share Posted August 31, 2010 the thing is, depending on how far they are in , i suppose at the begining it might be ok, but then you have to ask yourself they may wander, we always split our hounds and hot bitches put on a seperate lodge, and not hunted, there is probably a more technical reason, i never hunt my running dogs when they come in and i only have one dog here, and the poor little man goes of his head, but having a little stud dog, he lets you know when they are coming in, may be best to wait, than have pups by who knows what, if a hound bitch is on heat and out hunting goes missing.dd Quote Link to post
brendy73 12 Posted August 31, 2010 Author Report Share Posted August 31, 2010 hadnt even crossed my mind bot another dog getting a hold of her. so it looks like its the dog and my 4 1/2 month old pup it will give him a bit of experience and just keep 2 the small bits of cover with no rabbits LOL r may be he a bit young but ill bring him anyway for bit of crack Quote Link to post
