its still a bit hot yet but a couple of months and i will have to donning the hat and gloves for ferreting. i was wondering what everyone else uses as last season i spent half of the time retrieving my wooly hat from various blackthorn bushes as picking sh*t out of my gloves.

any suggestions that are slightly more practical than me nice wooly knits and waterproof to boot if possible :icon_redface: looking forward to frosty mornings icy toes...

thanks in advance

Just wear a cammo baseball cap to keep the sun out your eyes .and as it gets colder ive one that has flaps that can come down and cover your ears .Gloves are to much bother setting and lifting nets

One piece of advice: if you do find a decent wax bucket hat, like I had once, and you come in from a walk in the rain...don't pop it on top of the Aga hot plate cover for a few moments to dry out and then promptly forget about it.

Especially when you're on holiday and it's not your Aga.

Mate best hats you can buy but little bit expensive are gortex like caps withears on them too that fold away! go into any hiking shop and you get one. bergaus and lowe alpine and think north face make them! they cost bout £15- 20 depending on make! they are the dogs bollocks!
