ellir0305 9
its still a bit hot yet but a couple of months and i will have to donning the hat and gloves for ferreting. i was wondering what everyone else uses as last season i spent half of the time retrieving my wooly hat from various blackthorn bushes as picking sh*t out of my gloves. any suggestions that are slightly more practical than me nice wooly knits and waterproof to boot if possible looking forward to frosty mornings icy toes... thanks in advance Rob Edited August 30, 2010 by ellir0305 Quote Link to post

The one 8,503
Just wear a cammo baseball cap to keep the sun out your eyes .and as it gets colder ive one that has flaps that can come down and cover your ears .Gloves are to much bother setting and lifting nets Quote Link to post
ellir0305 9
i have a cheap wax jacket (£18 mole valley one)which i use because its thornproof. are there any decent wax hats??? Quote Link to post
Neal 1,873
One piece of advice: if you do find a decent wax bucket hat, like I had once, and you come in from a walk in the rain...don't pop it on top of the Aga hot plate cover for a few moments to dry out and then promptly forget about it. Especially when you're on holiday and it's not your Aga. Quote Link to post
michael flatters 2
I wear a Carhartt hooded canvas jacket, the hood is lined to keep you warm and is great for protecting my bald head under hedges!I wear the thin builder type gloves with the rubber coated palms and have had no problems with ferrets trying to bite me. The one 8,503
Cheap waxproofs are pish they dont let the water in but they dont let your sweat out so you end up wet anyway Quote Link to post
