Rotties are very intelligent dogs, most people don't see past the looks and realise that. They require a very careful and considered upbringing by a person who understands the breed to be a safe pet, ie, not your average pet owner.

no breed of dog should be left un-attended regardless of the breed.

never a truer word spoken. must be every grandparents nightmare,or anyone watching someone elses kid.sincerely hope the wee girl isnt scarred for life.

just heard on the radio another wee 10yr old lassie mauled by an akita in kilmarnock 150 stitches in her face in a 4 hour opperation in crosshouse hospital, wee lassie was playing with the owners wee boy in the garden when the dog just went crackers

this was my daughters best mate. i took her to the hospital last nite to see her and she just stared at the mess of her face, my heart was in my mouth and even i struggled to keep the tears in when i seen her. she got home today and we nipped over to see her, she'l hopefully make a full recovery and only time will tell about the scarring on her face. she still hasnt looked at her own reflection and even asked the nurses to cover the mirrors in the toilets.
