no breed of dog should be left un-attended regardless of the breed.

never a truer word spoken. must be every grandparents nightmare,or anyone watching someone elses kid.sincerely hope the wee girl isnt scarred for life.

I came close to being on the receiving end of a rottie a few years back while riding my bike, I pedalled like feck and managed to get away but if I were a kid it would of got me. Later on the same day I was talking to the keeper when a big red staff come round the corner and was heading for my dogs, luckily for it its owner arrived as the rifle was getting loaded :icon_eek:

I hope the poor girl makes a speedy recovery.

It's the owner not the dog! When my daughter was about 4 years old, we were walking along the towpath next the cut. There was an Asian guy walking towards us. He had a big GSD, long black hair, mean looking dog, on his left side. On his right he had a bloody great Rottie, both off the lead. As we got closer I heard him say "Heel!" The dogs tucked in close and kept out of our way. My wee lass was not trained to heel, and she yelled "Look Daddy nice doggie!" She ran up to the Rottie, threw her arms round its neck and said "Ooh nice dog give me a kiss!" Next thing is this big savage killer dog is flat on his back while my little lass gave him a BIG TUM SCRATCH. The Asian guy was chuffed to bits. His dogs looked mean but they were as friendly as owt. That was how he wanted it to be.

PS yon stupid wench in Dundee has been charged under the Dangerous Dogs Act and the dogs have been put down. Should have been the other way round.

wat dogs did u have terriers? wud u have shot it ?

I had a terrier and a whippet. It wasn't me loading the gun and i'm pretty sure it would have got it if it had bit me or my dogs. If the bloke with the gun wasn't there i'd of given it a good go without a weapon.

What the dogs shouldn't have been put down?? These things are just gonna keep happening as long as anyone can own these breeds as pets

why dont they just keep the feckin dogs in a run+kennel.? Any dog will bite, but these big+powerful breeds should be locked up,and out of feckin sight. :censored:

in some situations its not always the owners fault entirely; hear me out before you judge, i used to live on an estate where a particular family + their half-feral kids ran riot, climbing over my 7ft fence into the garden, opening ferret hutches, throwing stones at the dogs, bought a run for the dogs and the fuckers still poked fingers in the wire, they turned a docile dog into a potential libel case, i gave him to a friend of mine who was looking for a guard dog outside of the area, dog has returned to normal now that stress is gone
