matt241075 12
hi all i took some of these ferrets down south a few year ago with a mate for someone there are like weasels. i cant see any use for them in hunting far too small. ideal for a pet though... Quote Link to post
kevin from bristol 95
we call them bullet ferrets over here i bought two last season from ireland they had been worked before first time out put them to ground no nets bolting to dogs out came rabbit with ferret attached run across field and in to hedge never seen it again the other one was just no good to small ,rabbits wouldn,t bolt just kept running round beating it up so i gave it away as a pet . there no good for hunting as far as i'm concerned Quote Link to post

Millet 4,497
can you use micro ferrets for ratting or are they to small You can use any average sized ferret for ratting if they have the minerals but them micro things are a joke, ive had them as small as female stoats, they good for bolting the odd bunnie but when the going gets tough they give in, i have also had a small ferret dragged out of a drain pipe into a rat net by the rat, luckely the dog knew the score and the ferret lived, they are a waste of space in my eyes, just the same as them greyhound ferrets when that fad was in fashion. The one 8,479
One of my jills is small but i wouldn't say shes a micro ferret and if your digging to her and the burrow large just as your breaking threw i find that the rabbit sometimes kicks its self on out of reach .For that reason micros arent for me i like a good sized jill Quote Link to post
ferretertom 7
They are about 6'' long had one last year bred of normal ferrets not on purpose it was just a runt,i do prefer smallish types for purse netting but obviously not too small as for the comment about greyhound ferrets they are 2 different strains greyhounds dont have to be small just long and thin with a high back but they are quick. Ive been told micros useally have health assoiciated risks and normal size organs. Quote Link to post
